For Christians, salvation is returning to God. Christians believe that God created everything perfectly, but people became separated from God because of their wrongdoing. However, the Bible says that God would send a messiah to save people from their sins and bring them close to God again.
In order to reach liberation (mukti) and achieve union with God, a person must try to follow the five virtues and remove the five human vices, which make a person self-centered and build a barrier between them and God.
